Bloom among rocks and thorns.
Failure is an inseparable part of everyone’s life. Even if we move away from the failure, it won’t move away from us. No life is without odds. No life is without failures, and no life is without the question, “Why me? Failures make our hearts depressed, and odd paths give us a weary heart. We are getting tired very soon, perhaps by seeing one or two failures. Failures play a crucial part in our lives. We must remember that.
- Life is not a bed of roses.
- Life is like a mountain that has highs and lows.
- Life is like a stone, and the problems are like chisels.
A man is not entirely the master of his own destiny. A man is also the child of circumstances, of difficulties, of struggle. Problems gradually sculpt him like a lathe sculpts a piece of metal.
~Fidel Castro (My Life, A Spoken Autobiography)
Problems never break a man or woman into pieces; rather, they shape the person’s life, like a chisel that sculpts the stone to create a beautiful sculpture.
Failures and problems are the best weapons that change lives.
We see many luminaries who inspire us the most. They are the flowers that have bloomed out of several hard circumstances.
Let’s take a plant, for instance. It is not easy for a plant to spring up in between thorns and rocks. It needs to stutter much to sustain its life. The thorns and rocks are society, people, family members, and hard circumstances. They will never allow the people to spring up; instead, they will make them stutter. Likewise, the big shots would have struggled greatly for their lives.
They know the real value of failure. When you watch them closely, their lives will show how important a failure is. Their lives will clearly teach us that failures create the persistence to win over life.
Not all the people in our lives will encourage us. Some people will mock at us, some people will discourage us, some people will hurt us with their words, and some people will consider us worse than the dust on their feet. If so, we shouldn’t worry; we shouldn’t take those actions to heart. Rather, we need to work hard. We should persistently struggle for our high ambitions.
And one day, we will shine before everyone. specifically, before the people who underestimated us.
